The XXV International Congress on Historical Education will be held from January 29 to 31, 2026, under the theme “Historical Education in Times of Unrest.”
Celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary, the International Congress on Historical Education has become one of the most important events in the field, and its history reflects an unwavering commitment to the debate on the role of historical education in informed decision-making and action, in research and innovation in educational practices based on empirical research across continents, with an impact on educational policies, and contributing to the development of an interventionist and humanistic global citizenship.
This event will be held in its place of origin, Braga, Portugal, in January 2026, and will be credited in terms of Continuing Teacher Education by the Association of History Teachers (APH), with a commitment to continue to debate and inspire Historical Education in Times of Unrest.
