The teaching and learning of multiliteracies and initial and literacy practices in ongoing teacher education are my main areas of study. I have published in several international journals such as Language and Education, Research Papers in Education, Language, Pedagogy and Culture, Changing English, L1, Teacher Development, Perspectiva, and Educação e Pesquisa. I am currently a representative of Portugal in the project 'COST - The Digital Literacy and Multimodal Practices of Young Children' and a member of the team responsible for curricular reform of the basic education of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, under the auspices of UNICEF and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
