António José Osório was a teacher of Biology and Geology in Basic and Secondary Education and, as a collaborator of the MINERVA Project, participated, under the guidance of Professor Altamiro Machado, in research and development activities within the Lethes / Peneda-Gerês Project, providing a telematic network to the schools of the villages of the only National Park in Portugal.

António completed PhD studies in educational telematics at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom and was supervised by Professors Niki Davis and Martin Hughes. Later, he completed habilitation in Educational Sciences, in the specialty of Educational Technology, at the University of Minho.

António has teaching experience in the initial and continuous training of educators and teachers and research experience in educational telematics, as well as coordinating several national and international research projects in the field of Educational Technology or Information and Communication Technologies in Education. He also directs master's degree courses and supervises several masters and doctoral projects in these areas of understanding the challenges raised by emerging technologies in educational processes, especially of children.
