APP – the Portuguese Teachers’ Association – was set up in 1977 with the aim of promoting the teaching of the Portuguese language and providing pedagogical and scientific support to Portuguese teachers. Since 1993, the APP, which is based in Lisbon, has organised continuous training courses in various parts of Portugal, participated in research projects in its field and regularly published various publications. APP holds a National Meeting every two years.
