On November 16, CIEd PhD student Cleidson Silva took part in the 17th Congress of the Portuguese Society of Educational Sciences, at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto, presenting a paper entitled “Health Education and HIV Prevention: A look at support associations and public schools in Portugal”.
The study was carried out as part of her research project, and she presented the results of her fieldwork, including:
– Compilation and analysis of the annual reports of support associations for people with HIV/AIDS;
– Mapping of the social networks and websites of the 713 school groups and 95 non-grouped secondary schools in Portugal, seeking to understand how these institutions develop the Health Education Framework;
– Preliminary results of semi-structured interviews with 03 association leaders, 01 education professional, 02 school health professionals, 01 coordinator of the National Peer Education Project and 01 representative of the Directorate-General for Education.
On July 9, CIEd researchers presented two papers, co-authored with Pedro Abrantes.
