She has a degree in Psychology from the University of Porto and a PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Minho. At this University, she is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Education, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
She is a member of the National Association for the Study of Intervention in Giftedness (ANEIS) and the International Network for Research, Intervention and Assessment in High Intellectual Abilities (REINEVA). She is a member of the Scientific-Pedagogical Advisory Board of the Torrance Center Portugal, having developed and monitored research and training in this context. She is also a member of the Scientific and Editorial Boards of a number of journals.
Her field of research is creativity in education, having researched the concept, as well as its assessment and promotion. She is the author and co-author of several assessment scales related to creativity and creative cognitive processes. She has published nationally and internationally and has supervised master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral theses on creativity in education.
