The ERASMUS + project (KA220-SCH) entitled GREENLIGHT: Generating Renewable Energy Education Network – Leading Initiatives for Green & Harmonious Tomorrows, has the general objective of increasing the energy literacy of elementary school students, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 7. The aim is to:
– Promote participants’ awareness of the importance of energy choices and their impact on climate change and environmental sustainability.
– Develop teachers’ skills in promoting energy literacy and the use of renewable energies through interdisciplinary and innovative teaching approaches.
– Equip participants, particularly students, with practical knowledge and tools to adopt energy-efficient and sustainable behavior in their daily lives.
The project, coordinated by the University of Mugla (Turkey), involves universities and schools in Turkey, Portugal, Greece and North Macedonia. The Portuguese participants are the University of Minho, through the Institute of Education and the School of Sciences, and the Alberto Sampaio School Group.
The application was supported by Braga City Council, Erre and DST, who recognized the relevance of the objectives to be achieved.
